Game Six could have been the clincher for Cleveland, instead it was a messy nightmare as it led to a Detroit 115-94 victory. This result now forces a Game Seven back in Detroit. Ironically enough, both teams won Round One Game Sevens to advance to this round. The game will take place in Detroit at 8pm on Sunday night as the Cavaliers blew a golden chance to close it out.
Cleveland was a mess, only shooting 12 of 35 from long range and only 30 of 77 overall as they completely abandoned any inside game. It was a dreadful performance that also saw them commit an insane 20 turnovers.
James Harden was once again abysmal with 8 costly turnovers. Harden continues to be a real issue for the Cavaliers to have to navigate in this series. Like Ric Flair striking Angelo Poffo in front of Macho Man Randy Savage at WCW Slamboree 1995, this was perhaps the biggest insult of Donovan Mitchells reign in Cleveland. Fans have been tough on him at times and tonight’s 6 of 20 performance wont help matters as he continues to try and reach his first ever conference finals.
For Detroit, they were led by Cade Cunningham with 21 points and 8 assists as Paul Reed came off the bench strong again with 17 points. Reed has been a dominant sixth man in this series for Detroit with several big outings. The Cavaliers will need to find an answer for Reed on Sunday night if they hope to advance.
