Well Browns fans, we have 7 months to breakdown another disappointing season in which the team missed the playoffs. Since returning to the league in 1999, they have only made the playoffs once and only had two winning seasons.
As easy as it would be to harp on this fact and depress everyone even more, I thought it would be fun to go back and look at the biggest win of their season each year since they’ve returned to the NFL. For seasons such as 2002, 2007 and 2014, it was hard to choose just one. For true and loyal Browns fans, they deserve this!
Now, for obvious reasons we will skip 2017 in which they had zero wins, and 2016 when they only had one. I hope everyone enjoys this article and realizes that the Browns are only a few small tweaks away from being a real contender next season.
1999 – Week 8, 21 – 16 at New Orleans Saints.
This was their first win as a new franchise and came on a Tim Couch to Kevin Johnson Hail Mary as time expired. It was his third touchdown pass of the game. It doesn’t get more dramatic then that!
2000 – Week 3 23-20 over Pittsburgh
Talk about emotion! Not only was this their first home win of the new era, after 9 tries, but also their second straight win over Pittsburgh.
Tim Couch tossed two touchdown passes as he moved his career record to 2-0 against Pittsburgh. Phil Dawson also knocked in three field goals.
It moved them to 2-1 on the young season and gave everyone hope. It wouldn’t last as the team would finish 3-13 and fire Chris Palmer at seasons end.
Run willie run by a landslide. None of the others led to anything . I actually cried when he broke loose for the 64 yarder (I flew in to see it)
