Eight high school basketball teams from Northeast Ohio & Western Pennsylvania took center stage on Saturday at the JBL Hoops Showcase at the Struthers Fieldhouse in Struthers, which is just outside of Youngstown.
In the fourth & final game of the day the Canton McKinley Bulldogs defeated the Butler, PA Golden Hurricane 84-72. Butler took an early lead thanks to solid three point shooting but McKinley took the lead midway through the first quarter & never relinquished it.
Both teams played an up tempo game with numerous fast break points on both sides, which seemed to be entertaining to those who were cheering both schools.
The Canton McKinley Bulldogs are now 3–1 & were lead by CJ Hall with 28 points, Brent Walker with 27 points & 15 rebounds, Xavier Black with 14 points, & Kobe Johnson with 13 points. Walker had 3 slam dunks during the game which drew many cheers as well as oohs & aahs from the spectators.
The Golden Hurricane from Butler, PA suffered their first loss of the season & are now 3-1. They were lead by Devin Carney with 28 points, Ethan Morton with 27 points & 13 rebounds, & Mattix Clements with 13 points.
