The Final Score with Miami (OH) at the number 1 seed advances to the next round.

The Miami (OH) RedHawks women’s basketball team used a strong first half to pull away from the Kent State Golden Flashes women’s basketball team, earning a 65-58 win on Wednesday in the opening game of the Mid-American Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament at Rocket Arena.
Miami (OH) set the tone early, outscoring Kent State 25-12 in the first quarter behind an efficient offense and strong perimeter defense. The RedHawks carried that momentum into halftime, extending their lead to 36-22 and forcing the Golden Flashes to play behind for the remainder of the game.
Kent State attempted to rally in the third quarter, tightening the gap with improved defensive pressure and a few key baskets. But Miami responded in the final period, slowing the tempo and controlling possession to keep the Golden Flashes from getting any closer down the stretch.
The RedHawks’ defense proved decisive, limiting Kent State’s shooting throughout the afternoon and forcing difficult looks from beyond the arc. When it comes to this win, Miami will advance on to the Semifinals in the MAC Tournament, as they continue their push for the conference championship, while Kent State’s season comes to an end.
