Think about any High School Basketball game for a moment. If a player doesn’t show up, the game still goes on. If a parent has to work late and cannot make it, the game still goes on. Heck, even if the PA guy loses his voice, someone else steps up for the night and calls out the names and numbers. What is the one element of the game that you MUST have?
The answer is simple and not only is the most important element, but also the most under rated, over abused and underpaid for the abuse they take, the officials!
These men and woman all work 9-5 jobs just to spend their nights in sweaty hot gyms running up and down for over an hour with a whistle in their mouth. They have to deal with screaming coaches, screaming parents and the occasional mouthy player and they never see them lose their cool. Much like an offensive lineman in football, you tend to only notice the striped shirt when something went wrong or you simply don’t agree. Not everything is 3 in the key, over the back and a charge, not a block! I’m sure they hear those parents in their sleep.
It’s the roughest job in High School sports and our winner this year, does it better then most on a nightly basis, the one and only Victor Jackson. He is accurate, fair and works hard to be in the right spots at the right time. Jackson is the type of man you want officiating the biggest games!
Congrats to Victor Jackson for being named our 2026 Referee of the Year.
Also, I wanted to thank all of the officials out there who work hard to make sure the proper outcome is had along with keeping all those young men and women safe. I appreciate each and every one of you!
Here are just a few of the many crews we’ve had the chance to work with this past year.
