by “Hot Dog’s, Peanuts, Cracker Jack’s!” Who doesn’t remember hearing that as a kid? Going to the game was all about the snacks, and sure, it would be nice if the home team won too!
Magnificat High School has created a culture that is undeniable, I can attest to it myself, they treat you like family when you are there and it has become one of my favorite places to call and cover games.
One of the great things about it is the incredible snack stand. I can attest as a full time employee of my day job, most writing “gig’s” happen directly after work and there is no time to stop home and eat.
Sometimes that can turn into a real problem as you sit there hungry, well, covering games at Magnificat has the answer to that. Sure, they have your standard candy, nacho’s and other assorted treats, but they also have the best Hot Dog stand and condiment selections you will ever see.
They boast a giant all beef hot dog that is to big for the fresh bun they slide it in. Then, you have no less then 30 toppings to choose from while you are dressing it up to eat. Sauces, veggies, peppers, onions, chili and literally every single topping you could ever want. I’m a fan of the giant pickled cucumber style pickles along with the cheese sauce, ketchup, brown mustard, jalapeno’s and banana peppers. I literally just had one last night, they are that good!
Don’t have a kid who plays sports, don’t have a kid at all? Don’t even live near Rocky River? WHO CARES! Find a reason, ANY REASON to stop out to Magnificat and grab one yourself, you won’t regret it!
