by The Invaders hoped to come out hot, but did not seem to have an answer for the Rockets’ offense early on. Freshman Ryan Durkin could not have asked for a better game, as he was the spark in their offense, constantly making plays and creating opportunities tonight. He had 12 points in the first quarter with multiple threes and was able to set the tone early on in the game.
The Invaders struggled to finish the ball but did not back down as Junior Ryan Miller was a force to be reckoned with when driving to the hoop. Creating multiple and one opportunities gave the Rockets the spark they needed. Senior Ethan George played his heart out, contributing multiple threes and big layups as they headed into halftime with the score 29-39 Bay Village.
At halftime, Bay honored their 2025 State championship girls soccer team, as they reveled and hung up their banner. This was a very special moment, and you could tell the whole community was extremely proud of the girls and their accomplishment.
An extremely slow start to the second half as both teams struggled to score, but Ryan Miller broke the silence with a clutch and one opportunity with 4:26 minutes left. This was a very physical matchup between both teams, and with every loose ball, there was someone flying toward it. Freshman Gavin Clark was a beast in the paint tonight, picking up rebound after rebound, and was establishing himself in the paint all night.
Going into the 4th Sophomore Henry Schriner hit back-to-back threes, giving the Rockets much-needed momentum, but the Invaders had answers to every shot. Both teams showed no sign of giving up but again, Ryan Durkin was able to take control of the game and continue to be an elite playmaker, finishing with 17 points on the night.
The Invaders were able to cruise into the victory with a final score of 67-52. They hope to continue their winning streak as they travel to North Olmsted on Monday, as the Rockets plan to end their season strong as they play Streetsboro.
