by Mentor was absolutely dominant this season on their way to a 22-1 record, 14-0 in conference and currently riding a 21 game win streak after being stunned in their second game of the season with Twinsburg. In their 22 wins, 21 of them have been by double digits and many have bene by 20 plus, 30 plus and even 40 plus a few times. Their average margin of victory has been 28 points.
That is unheard of dominance! In their conference that features quality programs such as Medina, Strongsville and Brunswick, these are the kind of numbers you do not expect to see.
They boast incredible senior leadership in Nina Rodriguez and talented underclassmen in Keira Coleman, Peyton Willis, Hayley McClintock and Ashlyn McKinney. That is the crazy thing, with that kind of youth, this is the type of team that can rattle off 4 straight State Championships. McKinney is the best freshman in the state, and it isn’t even close.
The man in charge to lead this potential dynasty is James Hrusovsky who has done a near flawless job this season. He led them t o their first conference championship since 2016 and has the whole state watching them. He picked up his 100th career win earlier this season and can now add the 2026 GCC Kee On Sports Coach of the Year to that mantle as well. Congrats coach on a job well done!
