One time Cleveland Mayor and also one time Presidential candidate Dennis J Kucinich has filed a new motion against a Browns move to Brook Park. He is attempting to secure a preliminary injunction to stop the move.
The reasons for his filing states Cleveland has failed to fully enforce the lease between themselves and the Cleveland Browns. Legal lingo states that: Section 9(b)(2) in the lease, which is the portion that states the team could not establish any effort to relocate the team until the lease ends. Now, the current lease for the Browns in Cleveland ends in 2029, signaling 30 years of miserable football at the Stadium.
The Haslam Group is anxious to move away from the shore and to Brook Park. In fact, they are so desperate to relocate that they the Haslam’s ownership team will pay the city 100 Million Dollars and help remove the old stadium. The city, in return, would agree to end their lawsuits. As of this past October, this seemed like the deal in place until Kucinich stepped in,.
Kucinich is stating the following:
The city didn’t enforce the lease which prohibited the Browns from even entertaining the thought about moving to another city.
It ignored Cleveland City Council’s ordinance to stop the move.
It kept the Council in the dark.
It cut a deal with the Browns which would let them tear down a perfectly good lakefront stadium, which would cost a billion dollars to replace.
It forfeited $573 million the taxpayers invested in the stadium, and ended up with a phony deal.
Will these claims hold long enough for the move to delay itself a few months at least? Time will tell….

“a perfectly good lakefront stadium” hahahahahaahaha its a shit hole and is falling apart
