WESTLAKE, OH – Westlake got hot and stayed hot from deep in a 68-38 home victory over North Olmsted tonight.  The Demons hit 10 from longe range for 30 of their 68 total points as they were led by AJ DeFazio with 18 while Ryan Turk scored 15.  Hayden Purdy finished with 10 while Gage Carlson scored 8.

Dominic Martin with 12 and Jake Perkins with 14 led the Eagles while Desean Knight had 5 off the bench.  Chuck Shuck also checked in for 3 off the bench as well.

The Eagles worked hard to take an early 8-7 lead with 6 in the paint from Martin before the Demons finished the first on a 10-0 run.  The heavy hitters came from outside for the Demons as they drained 9 points from deep courtesy of the hot hands of Ryan Turk and AJ DeFazio.  The Demons held a 17-8 lead after one.

They got the lead up to 20-8 before an Eagles bucket from Perkins stopped it early into the second. In fact, 7 points from Perkins early in the second drew them within 22-15 with 6:38 to play. A few minutes later, a 5-point run from Perkins cut the lead to 26-22 before three balls from Defazio and then Turk halted it and ballooned it back up to 10 at 32-22.  They took a 34-22 lead into the break.

The Demons came out firing with 5 quick ones from Carlson and Defazio to start the second half quickly. They ran out to a 44-24 spot for their biggest lead of the night with the only Eagle points in the quarter coming from Shuck at that point.  It was a rough 8 minutes for the Eagles as by the time it was done, they had been outscored 21-5 and now trailed 55-27 heading into the final quarter.

The Demons started the fourth quarter on an 8-0 run to put the game away for good.  The Demons went on to win 68-38.
