  1. Wow, what a game! Two of the best Head Coaches in local athletics at any level. Very excited to see what runs both of these teams make in the postseason late next month. Thank you Chris for doing such a bang up job on the video as well! Our Shoregals will be back, but for now, congrats to the Bulldogs!

  2. Thank you Coach Appel for saving a program that was sinking before you arrived. Shoregals hoops have been cannot miss since you arrived. Excited to see what the future of this program brings next. Despite the loss, we proved last year we can turn it on when needed! So nice to get back to HS hoops and away from anything remotely resembling AAU.

  3. My daughter played for the Bulldogs with her senior year being 19-20. We loved watching Danny play and would give anything to have that back.
Her senior year was cut short due to a crazy injury and we miss those days. What we wouldn’t do for one more game, one more possession.
I still go to games like last night to recapture that feeling. Sadly, my night was ruined by some of the craziest fans I’ve ever been around.
I recall Avon Lake being a soft, welcoming community that cared about everyone. What happened? A more visceral group of parents I have never seen before until last night.
    Ruined the whole night!

    1. Bulldog, I am sorry you feel that way about our Avon lake community, sadly we do have a few bad apples whose agenda isn’t right. This town suffers from I care about my kid and not the team … Avon Lake has always been ruined by politics of parents and favoritism. As a former division 1 athlete it makes me cringe. Remember folks, this is their time and not their parents time. Avon Lake has a lot of great student athletes but remember this, the ball stops bouncing, Friday night lights end, the band and the memories go by really fast. So Avon lake parents, you know who you are, the same parents who talk behind peoples backs to make there agenda a reality. Small town bullshit. Look at yourselves in the mirror and wake up! Stop criticizing the coaches and teach your kids to be accountable when things don’t go their way …. Remember it’s their high school years !!! Not yours
