My Top 10 Sports Moments of 2025

Covering local athletics at the Pro, NCAA and High School level has opened up a lot of doors for me over the years and allowed myself to have some pretty incredible experiences.

The year 2025 was no different and for the first time ever, I decided to make a “Top 10” list of games or experiences I had this past year. Each was an opportunity I only had because of my time with Kee On Sports.  Also, to make it a bit easier to read, I will list them in chronological order.

Let’s start and have some fun!

January 25th

Strongsville at Medina Girls Basketball

Reason – I enjoyed this one for several reasons actually.  It was my daughter Maggie’s first time running the camera and also my first time calling a game with my good friend and colleague Dom Clary. On top of that, it was just a great game between two really good teams on a Saturday night.

February 7th

Baron Cup broadcasts

Reason – I love hockey and the Baron Cup is a Cleveland classic.  Honestly, there is no needless drama like girls basketball can bring you, and instead just the pure joy of the game and kids working hard. No AAU Political Bull crap.   Also, I got to call these games with Dom Clary, which is always a great time!

March 21rst and 23rd

NCAA March Madness rounds 1 and 2 come to Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse

Reason – This was a dream come true and a bucket list item in 2025.  I mean what sports fan wouldn’t want to cover the greatest tournament on Earth?  Yet again, this one includes my good buddy Domenic Clary who was with me for it all.  6 games in all!

Also, I had this chance in 2020 as a baby Kee On Sports that was less then 2 years old got approved to cover the tournament, only to have it ripped from us and the nation because of COVID. I had to wait 5 years to get a second chance, but my God was it worth it!

April 12th

Columbus Blue Jackets defeat Washinton Capitals

Reason – This was part of a 6-game win streak for the Jackets to end the season.  Also, out of all the pro sports I have ever covered, the Blue Jackets operations team blows the rest away.  The hospitality was unmatched as this was easily one of the greatest gigs I ever have had. I loved every second of this trip and despite Ovechkin breaking the record earlier in the week and not being there, it did nothing to take away from the excitement of covering NHL hockey in person for the first time!

June 7th

Girls Lacrosse State Championship Games

Reason – The Girls LAX playoffs can provide some memorable moments and great action with this past years being no exception.  Game one between Liberty and Upper Arlington went into double OT before Liberty won 9-8.

August 30th

Real American Freestyle

Reason – A weekend that saw me cover two high school football games, also featured the RAF 01 Press Conference and then event Saturday night.  I didn’t sleep and it didn’t matter, it was amazing!  I love freestyle wrestling and to have Cleveland chosen for the inaugural event was truly special.

My Uncle Joe and I got to rub elbows with Chael Sonnen, Kurt Angle, Lance Palmer, Bo Nichols and Eric Bischoff just to name a few.

September 12th

Glenville at St. Ed’s

Reason – This had a big fight feel between two teams favored to win a state championship.  Glenville beat them last year as the Eagles were playing without Brandon White.  This time around was a different story as White had 3 fourth quarter touchdowns in a thrilling come from behind win for St. Ed’s.

October 3rd

The Holy War

Reason – It is just special.  No matter the record, it simply doesn’t matter because when St. Ignatius plays St. Ed’s under the lights at Lakewood Stadium, few emotions and feelings can match that specialness.

Nov 25th

OSU Basketball

Reason – My first time covering Ohio State basketball from Value City Arena and just like the Blue Jackets game earlier in the year, this trip was amazing as the way I was treated was next level good! Amazing hospitality and the game was a blowout for the Buckeyes.  Columbus treats you well!

Dec 6th

Wrestling Quad hosted by St. Ed’s

Reason – My first time covering High School Wrestling since 2015 and I was hooked from the first match on.  There is nothing like High School Wrestling for that ultimate 1 on 1 competition.  Once again I had my Uncle Joe with me and we met Collin Palmer as the Eagles dominated Moeller, DeSales and Beavercreek along the way.
