NORTH RIDGEVILLE, OH– The North Ridgeville Rangers opened up their 2025-2026 with a Friday night victory over the visiting Brunswick Blue Devils. 66-58. The Lady Ranger were paced by Lauryn Bohannon and Brooke Schroeder with 23 points each while Adaya Collenette led the Blue Devils with 24.
Schroeder who was one of the Kee On Sports top ranked freshmen in the area before her injury in 2023, had a steady season her sophomore year but looks stronger then ever to begin her junior season. The fellow junior Bohannan looks to make the most of her minutes this season as this initial showing proved.
Perhaps the biggest detail in the Ranger win was their attention to proficiency at the foul line. They went 16 of 20 from the charity stripe, including 7 of 8 in the first quarter to help them build a 13-11 lead after one and 4 of 6 in the fourth to help them close the deal. In fact, the Rangers had a very strong close to the game as they outscored the Blue Devils 22-10 in the fourth, to overcome the 46-44 deficit they met them to start the fourth quarter.
Also hitting the score sheet for the Rangers was Adri Spyres with 9 while Reyna Balderas had 6. If Balderas finds that confidence and range from deep, she can become very dangerous this year. Finishing the scoring for North Ridgeville was Mary Strippy with 3 and Maddie Kuhn with 2.
The Rangers will look to stay hot as they host Columbia on Tuesday night. The Brunswick Blue Devils will try for their first win this Tuesday as they travel to Mentor.
