Five Burning Questions Facing the Cleveland Browns as They Enter the Bye Week

Myles Garrett had a career high 5 sacks in one game today and as usual, it meant nothing at all as the Cleveland Browns were blown out 32-13 by the New England Patriots.  Yet another loss in Foxboro as the Browns have not won there since 1992.  This is a horrible football team folks, one of the worst in recent NFL History.

They always allow a score to close the first half, you can set your clock to that routine as they did it yet again today.  They were up 7-6 with 30 seconds to go as the Patriots faced an 3rd and 18 and the Browns couldn’t get off the field.  Seconds later, the Browns let up a field goal and went into the half trailing 9-7.  They wouldn’t sniff the lead again.

Here are a few stats that prove how pitiful this offense and team are.

After scoring a touchdown on their opening drive, it took them nearly 3 more full quarters to score again and that was on a botched punt from New England that led to a short field.  The only other scoring chance they had came in the first half when Carson Schwesinger picked off a Drake Maye pass, giving the Browns great field position in which they did nothing with, eventually missing a field goal.

Folks, this team is awful, simply horrendous.  Need further proof?  Once again, their actual positioned wide receivers were nowhere to be found.  As a unit, they had two catches all game, that is hideous.  Both came from James Thrash for a measly 31 yards.  How pathetic is it that once again, your quarterback refuses to throw the ball downfield and sticks to tight ends and running backs out of the backfield.  19 of his 21 completions went to running backs and tight ends.  This is not a pro-offense, it is peewee football.

Before getting knocked out of the game with injury, Judkins was terrible again, just 19 yards on 9 carries and pretty much refuses to run between the tackles, everything was a stretch play that was shut down. Judkins has been dreadful the last two weeks, people will look at last week and not realize 1 run saved him from a 1.5 yard per carry average.  This team is not good folks, they are simply awful.

And they’re going to spin it anyway they can moving forward.  They will try to hype you on their rookies Carson, Judkins, Sampson and Fannin Jr, along with making you feel all warm and fuzzy about Eggsehll Denzel Ward and One Dimensional Myles Garrett.

I’ll leave you with this as the Cleveland Browns enter the bye week at 2-6

Because the rookies are doing well, is that enough to save Andrew Barry’s job?

Does Deshaun Watson see another snap as a Cleveland Browns quarterback?

Can Dillion Gabriel see over the offensive line far enough to throw the ball more then 8 yards?

Does Myles Garrett compile more speeding tickets and offsides calls then the Browns compile wins this season?  ( that is the safest YES bet you will ever make. )

Does NFL draft talk start next week?
