WWE Night of Champions Hot Takes

WWE Night of Champions is over and quite a few things stood out from it.

Hot Take – TKO’s number one concern is money and not much else.  This was evident with sending the WWE Roster into a pending War Zone, along with the blood money they receive every time they are there. They don’t care about safety, treatment of women or the fact that the roster has made it clear that they cannot stand being over there.

Hot Take – We are seeing the seeds of a Randy Orton heel turn.  Orton, lost the exact same way Kevin Owens did before him.  He refused to cheat and get extra physical because of his friendship with Cody.  It cost Orton the match like it did Owens last fall, and just like Owens did, Orton will get another crack at Cody with the same turn coming.

Hot Take – Karrion Kross was completely exposed today.  He may be great on the microphone and getting social media marks behind him, but in the end, he couldn’t do anything in the ring today.  Sami Zayn carried their entire match and Kross was limited to kicks, punches and elbows.  When he tried impact moves, they were slow and clumsy.  I was all for Kross getting a push, but this match showed why will never be more then a backstage gimmick with a smoking hot valet.

Hot Take – At first, we thought Solo was a beast, then we met Jacob Fatu and now we have Hikuleo.  This family just keeps getting bigger and badder.  It will be interesting to see how long Fatu goes before he gets the United States Championship back from Solo, but this was one Hell of a way to debut Hikuleo and also sets the stage for a possible WAR Games match down the line with the two sides of The Bloodline.

Hot Take – Asuka should have won, she will go down as the most underused female wrestler on the WWE roster in many years.  Another big win for Jade Cargill who couldn’t sell if her life depended on it.  Cargill continues to get by on looks alone.  I see this contiuning with a title win over Stratton at SummerSlam only to be cashed in by Naomi in one Hell of a display of irony.

Hot Take – This John Cena World Championship run is actually starting to get good.  The fans so badly want to cheer him, and lately, he has been dropping little reasons for them to do so.  Seth Rollins costing CM Punk his match just kept that incredible feud going as well.  The WWE may have not hit many homeruns as of late, but they did everything right today with the main event.  They need to keep Rollins with that briefcase as long as they can, meanwhile, slowly but surely, Cena will continue to become a face once more.

Hot Take  – Where was Ron Killings? He came back with all kinds of heat and momentum, and just like that, he is getting destroyed by Alistair Black on Smackdown.  It won’t be long until he is cut from the company again.
