Just when we thought my family and I visited every park in the Brook Park, Berea and Middleburgh Hts areas over the years, we actually stumbled upon one recently that somehow, someway avoided our radar all these years. Joe Konery was the subject of 2025 Summer Park Tour Stop 3 this evening and we’re excited to share we really liked it!
There is a lot to enjoy about the park including several slides and playsets. It even includes rings to conquer and a mini rockwall. The two jumpy bridges to run across are a lot of fun for the kids as well. It offers plenty of spots to sit in the shade, despite a few of them being a bit rusty, the best one near the trees is still clean as a whistle.
The kids favorite feature tonight was the tunnel slide which also compliments the straight slide nicely. The only downfall is the traditional wooden mulch over the preferred soft rubber footing, but that is the standard anyways. It’s big enough to keep your kids busy for 45 – 60 minutes, while small enough that you can sit at one of the picnic tables in the shade and still see everything your child is doing.
This is also a nice distraction for younger siblings who want nothing to do with watching their older sibling’s baseball or softball game and can walk right over to the playground with a parent. Brook Park has several playgrounds that we like, and several that we don’t, this one is on the plus side for sure!
