UFC 315: Muhammad vs. Della Maddalena

Six Fights to Preview and Predict

UFC 315 Muhammad vs. Della Maddalena is this weekend from the Bell Centre in Montreal.  Here are six fights spread across the main card and undercard that you can take the KOS advice to bet with.  ( along with a bonus pick listed after the main event pick )

Fight – Brad Katona vs Bekzat Almakhan

KOS Prediction – Almakhan

Reason – The youth and reach from Almakhan will be too much for Katona to deal with.  This is honestly the only easy fight on the card to predict.

Fight – Jessica Andrade vs Jasmine Jasudavicius

KOS Prediction – Jasudavicius

Reason –  Andrade has lost 4 of her last 6 fights with 3 of those coming by submission.  Meanwhile, her most recent win in April of 2024 came over Marina Rodriguez in a controversial split decision. Jasudavicius is on a four fight winning streak and seems to have found a home at flyweight.

Fight –  Alexa Grasso vs Natalie Silva

KOS Prediction – Silva

Reason – Grasso comes into this one a former World Champion but also a career that has been up and down at times as well. Silva comes in on a 12 fight streak after starting her MMA journey at 6-5.  This is a crazy hard fight to predict because both of them are so dead even, down to the reach only being a quarter of an inch apart. I’m going to take Silva here because I just see Grasso taking a step back after three straight title fights with Shevchenko.

Fight – Jose Aldo vs Aiemann Zahabi

KOS Prediction – Zahabi

Reason – There was a time I would never pick against Jose Aldo, but he hasn’t been the same in years.  Aldo has lost 3 of his last 6, and when you go back to when he lost his UFC Featherweight Championship to Conor McGregor all the way back in December of 2015, he has never been the same since.  He is 7-8 since that fateful night and has been finished 4 times.

On the other hand, Zahabi has been on a tear as of late, winning 5 straight after starting his UFC career at 1-2.  The problem being, none of those 5 wins were impressive or over a decent name.  Aldo has a two inch reach advantage and Zahabi came in overweight, causing this fight to be moved to featherweight.  This is truly a pick em. Jose Also is the favorite on Fan Duel however.

Fight – Valentina Shevchenko vs Manon Fiorot

KOS Prediction –  Fiorot

Reason – Shevchenko is done with her Alexa Grasso trilogy and back on top of the Flyweight Division as Champion.  There is a lot of hype behind Fiorot after she dominated Erin Blanchfield and Thug Rose, but I feel as though Shevchenko just got the belt back and there is no way she is going to drop it in her first title defense back without one Hell of a fight.  In the end however, the hype behind Manon Fiorot is real and I see her unseating the champ.

Fight – Belal Muhammad vs Jack Della Maddalena

KOS Prediction – Belal Muhammad

Reason – Jack Della Maddalena comes in with a slight reach advantage and on the cusp of a 17-fight win streak.  He hasn’t fought in over a year however and there may be some rust. The champ Muhammad knows how to grind out decision wins and has won 9 of his last 10 fights.  On a night of fights to close to call, this is yet another one.  A coin toss pick here.

***** BONUS PICK*****

Benoit St Denis defeats Kyle Prepolec by first round KO in a wild fight.  It will be a slugfest until he connects late in the round.
