WWE WrestleMania 41 Preview

WWE WrestleMania Night One Predictions

Tiffany Stratton defends her WWE Women’s Championship

Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair will have a surprisingly good match.  Despite the awful promo’s leading up to this match, both are good in the ring, and quite frankly, Charlotte has been Ms. WrestleMania in her career.  You take a look at her triple threat match at WrestleMania 32, her match with Asuka at 34 and her two matches with Rhea Ripley at 36 and 39, and she delivers on the biggest stage.  Stratton is a natural born athlete and will rise to the occasion if they book this with no gimmicks and just let them wrestle.  I’ll say it again, if they let this be a good old fashioned “wrasslin” match, it will be quite good.

Prediction – Charlotte wins to become champion.

The War Raiders defend the World Tag Team Championship vs The New Day

This match has had little to no build and feels rushed, not deserving of being on the card.  It will receive the least time for Night One.  The New Day has to win for their heel turn to make any sense. If they lose, their heel turn is dead in the water before it can really get going.  New champs here.

Prediction – The New Day

Rey Mysterio vs El Grande Americano

This just shows that Chad Gable is a money player who can get over any gimmick you hand him.  This match should be a fun to watch, but it calls for Gable to lose and then unmask. It was a fun ride, but Gable is too good not to be taken seriously.

Prediction – Mysterio

Jade Cargill vs Naomi

We finally have a single non-title women’s match at WrestleMania that isn’t a gimmick-based match either. This may be a first of its kind.  This is a sink or swim moment for Jade Cargill who hasn’t had a single standout singles match, she needs this one to do well.  Naomi is capable of her giving her every chance to shine.

Prediction – Jade Cargill

LA Knight defends his United States Championship against Jacob Fatu

Knight has lost all steam, and Fatu is on the rise.

Prediction – Jacob Fatu

Gunther defends his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Jey Uso

If Jey wins, then it is a lock he turns heel at the end of the weekend by joining John Cena and The Rock, in the process, making Gunther on the fast track to become one of the best babyfaces we’ve seen in years. If Jey doesn’t win, then it is never going to happen for him, this is his chance.  However, I’m picking Gunther simply because he reign still has a lot of steam on it and it wouldn’t make any sense to cut it so short.

Prediction – Gunther

Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins vs CM Punk

A good old fashioned grudge match to end night one.  All of them will not be hurt with a loss, but who would benefit most with not only the win, but Paul Heyman in his corner moving forward?  The answer he is clear, and that is why he wins.

Prediction – Seth Rollins

NIGHT TWO

Iyo Sky vs Bianca Belair vs Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship

Rhea Ripley has never beaten Iyo Sky and Bianca Belair has never lost at a WrestleMania.  Both of those records fall this weekend as Ripley wins back her championship.

Prediction – Rhea Ripley

Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez defend their WWE Women’s tag Team Championships against Lyra Valkyria.

This slot was supposed to be for Nia Jax and Candice LeRea but disappeared with the injury to Nia Jax.  Thus, this one just seems like a forced way to get Bayley and Valkyria on the card with no long-term storyline planned.

Prediction – Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez

AJ Styles vs Logan Paul

This could be the match that steals the show of night two.  Both are amazing athletes and AJ Styles is easily the most underrated performer of all time.  Styles is extremely good and Paul is getting better by the match.  Paul needs this one as he cannot continue to lose at PPV’s.

Prediction – Logan Paul

Bron Breakker defends the IC Strap against Dirty Dom, Penta and Finn Balor

This will be Finn Balors last match as part of a the Judgement Day as he will be screwed over by Dirty Dom who wins the match instead.

Prediction – Dirty Dom

Damien Priest vs Drew McIntyre

Drew is doing the best work of his career in and out of the ring.  He spent the entire spring and most of the summer putting Priest over, it is time DP returns the favor.

Prediction – Drew McIntyre

The main event of the evening John Cena challenges Cody Rhodes for the WWE Universal World Championship

What a tremendous run it has been for Cody this past year.  If he wins, then he gets attacked by Randy Orton the next night for that feud to finally start.  If he loses, he gets attacked by Stone Cold Steve Austin during the match, costing him the gold.

Prediction – John Cena wins his 17th WWE World Championship
