Avon Lake released the following press release earlier today regarding their selection for TJ Kwasniak for Head Boys Basketball coach.

FROM ARTICLE ON WEBSITE – Pending approval from Avon Lake’s B.O.E., TJ Kwasniak will bring over 16 years of high school basketball coaching experience as Avon Lake’s next head boys basketball coach.
An Avon Lake resident, Kwasniak served as the Varsity Basketball Head Coach at Euclid High School from 2017 to 2019. In his first season, he took over a program that had won just two games in each of the previous two years, leading the Panthers to a 13-11 record. Euclid’s first winning season since 2010. That year, he was named the Northeast Great Lakes District Division I Coach of the Year.
In his second season, Euclid finished 18-8 and captured the school’s first district championship since 1995. The Panthers postseason run ended in a dramatic overtime loss to St. Edward in the regional semifinals.
Before his time at Euclid, Kwasniak was a varsity assistant at Beachwood High School, where the Bison exceeded expectations and finished 10-2 in conference play to earn a share of the CVC Conference Championship.
Kwasniak also spent six years at Villa Angela-St. Joseph (VASJ) as the head JV and varsity assistant coach. During his tenure, VASJ won two state championships (2013, 2015) and reached the state title game four consecutive times. His 2014-2015 JV squad set a school record with a 19-1 season. Kwasniak also served as interim varsity coach at the start of the 2015-2016 season, guiding the Vikings to an 8-2 record.
