It was a beautiful night as the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Lady Bees traveled to take on the Olmsted Falls Lady Bulldogs in a high scoring lacrosse matchup. The Lady Bees would spoil the Bulldogs senior night, winning the contest 10-7.

The contest started off with great defense from both sides. The Bulldogs were controlling the ball very well to start but the Lady Bees were sticking with them and playing great defense. However, the Bulldogs were finally able to get on the scoreboard as Molly Murphy was able to find the back of the net. This made the score 1-0 at the 7:50 mark.

The Bulldogs would come right back and score another goal to take a nice 2-0 lead to start the first quarter, this time being Josette Ineman with the goal. Jayla Collard responded for the Lady Bees and scored a goal of her own to make the score 2-1. It was a fast-paced game late into the quarter, and as time expired, Sydney Gerber was able to score for the Lady Bees to make the score all tied up at 2-2 going into the second quarter.

The Bulldogs came out to start the second quarter, firing shots at the goal but weren’t able to convert any of them. However, Sienna Varga was able to finally find the back of the net for the Bulldogs to give them the lead, making the score 3-2.

Mallory McCrodden would come right back and respond with her first goal of the game for the Lady Bees to tie the game 3-3 at the 6:22 mark. The Lady Bees had all the momentum late and showed no signs of slowing down. The fast-paced quarter continued late, and the Bulldogs’ strong defense was able to get them into the half.

The third quarter started relatively slowly compared to the second quarter. However, Gerber would score her second goal of the game for the Lady Bees at the 10:15 mark to make the score 5-4. Gerber was on fire for the Lady Bees as she was able to come right back down and score yet again. Making the score 6-4 for Brecksville.

Brecksville was showing no signs of slowing down halfway through the third quarter as Collard was able to find the back of the net for her second goal of the game to put the Lady Bees up 7-4. Brecksville had all of the momentum late into the contest and forced the Bulldogs to call their first timeout of the game in hopes of regrouping.

The timeout seemed to work for the Bulldogs as they came out with aggression and the urge to score. Reese Sedlacek was able to end the drought for the Bulldogs to make the score 7-5 at the 4:35 mark. Olmsted Falls was turning up the energy late, and Kaleigh Conte was able to score one more time for the Bulldogs before heading into the fourth quarter, making the score 7-6.

The fourth quarter started off very physically, with players falling to the ground left and right. Both sides came out playing very good defense as well, however, Katie Delahunty was able to score her first goal of the game for Brecksville to put the Lady Bees up 8-6. Brecksville was feeling it as Cate Gutridge would come right back and score another goal for the Lady Bees to put them up 9-6.

The Bulldogs were looking for an answer in hopes of making a late-game comeback. Sedlacek was able to find the back of the net for her second goal of the game, hoping to boost her team’s momentum as the clock dwindled. However, McCrodden was able to score her third goal of the game for the Lady Bees to make the score 10-7.

Brecksville started slowing down the pace of the game as they had a commanding 3-goal lead late into the fourth quarter. The physicality continued well into the quarter, similar to how it started. However, the Lady Bees’ defense stood strong to ultimately hold off the Bulldogs and win the contest.
