Six different players score as the Patriots overwhelm the Redmen 45-10

Teams win games, on Saturday the Valley Forge football team beat the Parma Redmen 45 -10. Six different Patriots contributed to the scoring.

Kentrel Marks (2 TD’s), Jalen Robinson, Julius Sebille, Michael Pappas, Antwon Torres, Chris Hein (7 xtra points, 1 field goal) all lit up the scoreboard to help the Patriots earn their third win of the season.

Enabling them to succeed was an offensive line that dominated the point of attack opening gaping holes. Tim Vanier, Tim Mckinley, Logan Mahood, Max Dieye, and Isaiah Kammer won the line of scrimmage and propelled the Patriots to pay dirt on their first 8 possessions of the game.

Defensively the Patriots were tested early by a gutsy Redmen offense that controlled the ball and milked the clock. Parma’s opening possession ended with a fumble that led to a Valley Forge touchdown 5 plays later.

The Redmens next possession lasted almost 9 minutes and resulted in a field goal to make the score 7-3 with 7 minutes left in the second quarter but by halftime the score would balloon to 28-3. The Patriots defense adjusted to Parma’s scheme and began to dominate forcing two punts and recovering a fumble on the one yard line with two seconds left before half.

Kentrel Marks would cross the goal line for his second TD giving the Patriots a 28-3 lead.  Werner Scheffler, Kammer, Bobby Benak, Torres, Shanchez Perry, Ricky Linville, Malachi Tate, Josh Zereski, Jay Janowski, and Anthony Janowski all imposed their will creating havoc and limiting the Redmen offense the rest of the game.

After the game Coach Deangelis was pleased with his teams performance “Their kids played great early causing us some confusion.

Our kids remained focused and executed the game plan. It’s easy to get caught up with the other stuff when it’s a rivalry but we kept our composure and played as a team”. The team improves to 3-0 and will travel to Bay next Friday.
