When Eszter Dioszegi was at Padua as a Freshmen, many saw her as a potentially good player and a fun, “project”. Well, under Strongsville Head Coach Madyson Farnbauch that fun little, “project” has become one of the most dominant centers in the game. She showed everyone the night they beat Olmsted Falls just how far she has come and how good she can be!
Dioszegi is one of the last true “big men” in the game, much like Elizabeth Lang in in River and Reese Roggenburk at Magnificat, she excels because she is much more then size. She has speed, size and can play every inch of that court. Dioszegi showed several times this year including the game at Medina that she is “tough” as well. She has a gritty toughness about her that gives her that desired X-Factor that often separates the difference between winning and losing.
I spoke with Strongsville head coach Madyson Farnbauch a little bit more abut what makes Eszter Dioszegi so special, “Eszter has developed in her three years at Strongsville as a player and young woman. Her confidence on and off the floor has been remarkable to see and be apart of. Her presence in the paint and vision of the floor has helped us be so successful this season in many games. She just recently broke the all time rebounding record for most rebounds in a season. Her future in college is so bright and I’m so excited to see her continue to develop her game. ”
