Moen, best known for the single handed faucet, will no longer have an office in North Olmsted starting in the summer of 2026. Over 325 Employees of the North Olmsted location for Moen will be on the job hunt soon or be forced to re-locate to Chicago as Moen is moving their headquarters out of North Olmsted and to the Windy City. In fact, it is not only the North Olmsted employees who will be effected but all office related employees of the company will be forced to re-locate to the Chicago area or be let go from the company.
Now, don’t worry, as this will be nothing sudden as the North Olmsted location will remain open throughout all of 2025 as the re-location will not begin until June of 2026. A statement released earlier today confirmed that the plan is to consolidate all of their main American operations at a single facility in Deerfield, Illinois.
As mentioned, Ohio will not be the only office effected as their offices in California and Wisconsin will suffer the same fate. Outside of the United States, they also have headquarters in Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, and China.
Moen in North Olmsted has been notorious for regular layoffs, mistreatment of employees and just plan being labeled a horrible place to work. This will not help matters.
I spoke to an employee today who actually found the news to be refreshing, she was quoted as saying, “For 14 years they have treated myself and others like pieces of dirt. My supervisor has never missed a chance to make us feel stupid. I welcome the change as I was born and raised here in Northeast, Ohio. I can assure you that @#$%^& may be leaving for Illinois, but she isn’t taking me. My resume will be updated on Linkedin by this weekend.”
I also spoke with another associate who said, ” As a single woman, I have enjoyed the discount on their shower heads for years, but it is not enough for me to relocate my life. I will look for another job.”
Wildly enough, not too many seemed upset….
