Are the Cleveland Browns Bit by the Injury Bug?

The injury bug has once again come to Cleveland. With 18 players already on the injury list (it is only Tuesday) for next Sunday’s game against the Raiders, fans might want to join Cleveland’s next practice. Now, Cleveland is not the only team who has the virus. Many other teams are banged up. It is not just about the number of injuries, it’s about the impact those players have on the field that matters.

Going back to last year, the Browns were up against a wall, with numerous players on IR, injured, or whatever reason, the Browns still managed to prevail and make the playoffs. This is nothing new to Cleveland fans. What is new, is half of the Browns starters are hurt before a quarter of the season is over.

With star players hurt on most teams, some find a way to win. The Browns, sadly, are not one of them. After losing to the Giants a couple days ago, new faces and names will begin to fill spots. Do not be shocked to see names like Jaelon Darden, Siaki Ika, Blake Whiteheart, and Kadarius Toney make an appearance in the upcoming weeks. It would not be surprising if the Browns made a trade or two either.

The key to maintaining injuries starts with the Strength and Conditioning coach. You also have sudden injuries from the field, weather, outlying issues, and other factors that weigh in. There needs to be some change coming soon. While the other teams are finding ways around their injuries, the Browns are still falling behind.
