Geneva Continues Win Streak vs Lutheran West

Geneva High School shuts out Lutheran West at a home game at Spire Institute by a score of 35-0. The Eagles scored five touchdowns from a steady play call of runs. Their first touchdown came in the first two minutes of the game. Geneva was led by running backs Bryce Peet, Hayden Diemer, Luke Barbo, and Caden Proy. They all had over five carries and 50 yards on the ground. Bryce Peet had 80 yards and three touchdowns while Caden Proy had 132 yards and one touchdown. Quarterback Luke Barbo threw seven attempts for 57 yards and a passing touchdown. Hayden Diemer caught three passes for 45 yards and a touchdown, while Bryce Peet caught one for 12 yards. The Eagles defense was led by Jamil Daghlas and Luke Barbo.

Lutheran West went scoreless for their third straight game. Their offense cannot seem to get their footing at all throughout the game. Their only scoring chance was a field goal in the first quarter. Jace Palmer went 7 for 12 with 32 yards in the air. He also had a monstrous run of 58 yards in the first quarter giving him a total of 60. J’Leon Isom once again led the Longhorns with nine carries and 51 yards. De’Von McDougle and Maurice “Mo Gotti” Wynn led them in receiving until Mo went down with a rib injury and had to be carted off the field in a ambulance golf cart. McDougle finished with 19 yards and Mo with 16 yards respectively. Cortlon Campbell caught the kick returns and ran them for a total of 68 yards and a long of 37. The Longhorn defense was led by Denver Scott, Mykel Robinson, De’Von McDougle, and Cortlon Campbell.

The Longhorns look to get their first win at home so they celebrate Homecoming versus Madison.  The Eagles look to continue their unbeaten streak at Perry next week.
