The Twinsburg Tigers hosted the Copley Indians at Tiger Stadium and are now on a two-game win streak. The Tigers held on in the fourth quarter to edge out Copley 25-22.
The Indians were the first to get on the board with a rushing touchdown from Tony Cox. After that, it was all Twinsburg. RJ Ruffin ran in a touchdown from a scoop and score which tied the game. On the next possession, Copley’s punt attempt was recovered in the end zone for a safety, giving the Tigers a two point lead. Before the end of the first quarter, Twinsburg quarterback Joey Pollock took matters into his own hands with a rushing touchdown which put the Tigers ahead 16-7.
Copley didn’t respond until the second half with a rushing touchdown by Dane Wininger. Twinsburg responded with a rushing touchdown, but this time by Lucas Kienzling. Then, Copley responded with a touchdown reception by Andrew McKnight. The Indians also went on to score on a two-point conversion which made the score 22-25 with 25 seconds left in the game, leaving Twinsburg victorious.
The Tigers went on to secure the victory despite the late Copley comeback to win their second game in a row to improve to 2-1 on the season. The Copley Indians fall to 1-2 and look to bounce back next week against Highland.
