Woodrow “Woody” Kelker
1939-2019
The boxing and mixed martial arts community lost a pioneer. Woody Kelker passed away on September 17, 2019 but not before leaving a last legacy on combat sports that will adopted, studied and implemented for generations.
Woody served his country in the US Army for 26 years, and served the combat sports community for over 30 years as chief inspector with Ohio Athletic Commission.
His contributions have allowed the progressions and main stream success of both boxing and mixed martial arts.
Woody was a father-figure, mentor, friend, and teacher to so many in the industry. His web of influence of those he touched with his knowledge, wisdom and kindness can be seen and herd every time a bell rings across the globe.
Thank You Woody! Job Well Done! You Always Answered the Bell!
