Toy Hunt 222! Ohio Tax Free Days Toy Hunting!

The Ohio General Assembly and Governor DeWine extended Ohio’s Sales Tax Holiday to ten days, instead of the typical three, permitting tax-free purchases of up to $500 on all qualified items in-person or online. (This exemption includes both the state’s 5.75% sales tax and any additional county or local sales taxes.) In addition to a shorter period, previous holidays only exempted school-related items and set much lower purchasing price limits (e.g., up to $20 for learning materials and up to $75 for clothing). “Ohio’s sales tax holiday, historically, has been meant to help families buy clothing and school supplies for the upcoming school year,” DeWine said in a statement.” This expanded sales tax break will help Ohio’s families with back-to-school necessities as well as other substantial purchases during a time when so many household budgets are being strained.”
