BW No. 3 Baseball Overpowers No. 1 Johns Hopkins, Splits in Day One of Baltimore Invitational

Per BW Media Communcations team

BALTIMORE, Md. – The No. 3 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University baseball team competed in day one of the Baltimore Invitational hosted by Johns Hopkins (Md.) University where it fell to Arcadia (Pa.) University in extra innings by a score of 5-4 and upset No. 1 nationally ranked Johns Hopkins by a score of 5-1 on Babb Field inside Stromberg Stadium.

BW (2-1) jumped out to an early lead over Arcadia (2-0) but the Knights would battle back to take a 4-2 advantage in the bottom of the seventh inning. A Yellow Jackets’ two-run eighth tied things up to force extra innings where a BW wild pitch would seal the victory for Arcadia in the bottom of the tenth. The Jackets bounced back with a big victory over Johns Hopkins (1-1) in a rematch of the 2023 Division III World Series Semifinals thanks to some big bats and dominant pitching.
