by Week 5 marks the regular season’s midway point, and action is heating up across the area. This week sees each of the Top Five teams taking on some of their most challenging tasks of the season. Before action kicks off, take a look at this week’s Top Five squads in Northeast Ohio.
1. St. Edward Eagles (4-0, Last Week: 34-33 @ Cincinnati Elder, Previous Rank: 1)
The Eagles needed every second on the game clock as Kellen Moyer hit a 29-yard field goal with six seconds left to take down the Elder Panthers on the road. Sophomore RB Brandon White led the way offensively with 134 yards rushing, two rushing touchdowns, and a receiving touchdown. St. Edward hits the road again this week, this time with revenge on their minds as they take on the Massillon Tigers (4-0). Last year’s 31-28 loss to the Tigers was the lone blemish on the Eagles’ record.
