AEW recently concluded its second annual Owen Hart Memorial Cup Tournament. This year was a little lackluster compared to last year, and also extremely predictable. It has fans a bit upset with Tony Khan and also Martha Hart as it came across a bit tacky and forced. One of the best things about Owen Hart was his genuine passion for the business and fellow human beings, from fans to co-wrestlers.
It is in that vain, that fellow wrestler, Greg Starr, real name Greg Fishman, came up with a tribute song to Owen, based on a meeting he had with him nearly a decade before Owen passed. Fishman is also a musician and lead singer of the musical group, “Planetfish”
The groups first album had song dedicated to the memory of Owen Hart entitled “We Still Need You, Owen.” It is based on a meeting he had when he met Owen outside of a WWF TV taping in Binghamton, New York .
The song can be found at the below link, also below the video, you can find the full lyrics.

Met you down by the parking lot
Way back down in ’91
Told security I was good to go
And then he sat back in the sun
3 hours to showtime it was getting near
This wasn’t starting to feel fun
Climb through those ropes
He did so many nights
His smile could stretch across the sun, the sun
We still need you Owen
Reporter said “Wrestler died”
They say the fans their hearts just fell
Once stood a man who stood for pride
Best match in heaven ring the bell, the bell
We still need you Owen
