The Rockets survived several Bobcat rallies to survive and advance to the MAC Championship game with a 82-75 victory tonight over Ohio.  The Rockets were led by RayJ Dennis with 28 while Dante Maddox had 20 with 3 buckets from beyond the arc.  Setric Milner Jr and JT Shumate had 9 each while Ra’Heim finished with 8 and Ej Famer 6. The Bobcats were paced by Jaylin Hunter with an insane 7 three pointers to finish with 27 total points.

Both teams came out firing as Toledo held a slim 9-8 lead four minutes in.  The Bobcats got a hot start from Jaylin Hunter with 8 while RayJ Dennis of the Rockets had 9 in the first 9 minutes as Toledo led 16-12 with 11:04 left in the opening half. The next two minutes were all Toledo as the Rockets ran the lead out to 21-12 with 9:35 remaining, cashing in on a Dante Maddox three for their largest lead of the young game.

The game was then back and forth for a bit, until another mini-Toledo run put them up by 10 with 5:38 to go as the Rockets held the 25-15 lead.  The Bobcats spent the rest of the first half trying to close the gap and did so at one point with a 10-2 run to make it 27-25. But by the break, the Rockets led 37-31 as they seemed to have an answer every time.

The second half was a game of runs as the Bobcats would close the gap to 1 or 2, and then the Rockets would get hot again and push it out to double digits.  The Rockets reached their second double digit lead of the game at 64-53 on a Dennis bucket with 5:33 left.

The Bobcats, as they had done all game, made one last push it and actually cut it to 76-72 with 54 seconds left, as Bobcat nation went crazy.  The Rockets survived one last push and hung on for the 82-75 victory.
