Also,
And now, the reason you clicked the link, LET’S TALK SOME BACHELOR!!!
The show opens up with a group date as the girls dance one at a time to “Bitch Energy” by Latto.
Okay, so I’ll admit it, while I typically don’t care for these cheesy segments in the early parts of the season, I cannot help it, I love that song! I’ll even admit to singing along when it comes on in the car. Not to mention the fact, that my all-time favorite Bachelorette Victoria F showed up!
All that aside however, it was a segment that allowed the women to show some creativity and have some fun before the ridiculous amounts of drama begin later in the season. You know, the man tears, and all that fun to come.
Brianna is feeling like a target early on by the other girls
Apparently, the other women see her as a threat and they should. She is stunning, and clearly America is behind her from the season finale of the Bachelorettes. Now, where she goes from here and what she does with it only time will tell but she is already living in peoples heads rent free. She cannot however, let anyone get in her head, and it seems as though that make be going on as well.
Tahzjuan shows up on the Bachelor on her own accord.
It didn’t work out for her on Season 23, and now she is here for this season, just minutes into Episode Two. Her arrival was as part of the “Bitch Energy” segment, which was actually quite entertaining. At the end of the day, Zach isn’t feeling it and sends her home as she wasted no time insulting the current group. I agree with this move, as I don’t think it would have been fair to the other women if they let her stay. I’m also glad she is gone, because the thought of how many times I would have to type that name and not butcher it in the course of one 12 episode season, would have stressed me out.
Group date rose goes to Katherine
She seems sweet, and in it for the right reasons. I don’t know if she is a long-term threat to win it all, but a great start. Does this guarantee she gets a solo date soon however? That is never a sure thing as we’ve seen it time and time again where it never leads to anything.
Cristina gets the first solo date.
They first met at the Season Finale, and Zach felt a spark, and has been looking forward to this single date. This choice doesn’t surprise me one bit. The even kissed in a helicopter, which is pretty impressive considering most people are trying not to puke at that altitude.
In a shocking move, Zach takes her to meet his entire family hours into the date. This is a Bachelor first and a pretty bold move. Now, he has to pick her or this just spells heartbreak! She then lets him know about her 5-year-old little daughter at home. Oh, my goodness, as a girl dad, can I just say, I LOVED THIS! I’m not going to lie, my heart may have paced just a little faster during this segment!
The news scared Zach as he opens up to Cristina about how this news overwhelmed him a little bit as well. His fears are extremely natural, as even for married men like myself, it is exciting and terrifying all at once when you hear you’re going to be a father for the first time.
The Second Date turns into random make out sessions.
Well, the second group date, isn’t really an activity, as much as each woman taking their chance to talk with Zach alone, and perhaps swap some spit with a little smooching. But hey, at least we learned a few middle names as the segment went on. That and the fact that farmer markets continue to make great memories! In the end, Jess gets the rose, as blondes go 3 for 3 in this episode as they swept both group dates and the solo date roses.
Gabi “the woman in the yellow dress” was upset that her nickname and farmers market conversation didn’t gain her the rose and shed a few tears by the street over it. Later on, at the cocktail party, she arrives in a stunning black dress and she makes up for it with a Strawberry Lady in the Tramp kiss. Talk about a comeback!
In the end, a solid first episode that makes me excited for Episode 3 and the rest of the season.
