St. Ed’s steamrolled towards the third round of the playoffs tonight with a dominant 42-0 win over the Jackson Polar Bears tonight. Casey Bullock went 10 of 12 for 204 yards and touchdown passes of 63, 35 and 21 yards. Marvin Bell was his usually effective self with 83 yards on 11 carries with 2 touchdowns. Bullock also went for 62 yards.

St. Ed’s started with the ball from their own 20-yard line where Bullock wasted no time ripping off a 25-yard run to get the Eagles moving. Marvin Bell followed it with a 19-yard run and just like that, the Eagles were ready to strike. One pass later to Bryan Sullivan, and it was first and 10 from the 25. Marvin Bell then bruised his way for 16 more yards. A few plays later and it was Marvin Bell finishing the drive with a five-yard touchdown run with 7:33 left to play in the first quarter.
After a Polar Bear 3 and out, the next Eagle drive would start from their own 37-yard line. It would take one play as a Bullock to Kyan Mason touchdown pass went 63 yards to the house. With 5:53 to go in the first, it was already 14-0 Eagles.
After a Polar Bear turn over on downs, the Eagles went back to work near midfield. Two runs from Bell totaling 24 yards and then a 23-yard hookup from Bullock to Mason placed the ball on the Polar Bear 18. A few plays later, it was Marvin Bell taking it in for his second touchdown of the game with a 9 yard scamper to make it 21-0 with 11:55 to go in the opening half.
Try as they might, the Polar Bears couldn’t get past midfield on their next drive and would turn it over on downs yet again. A personal foul for face masking would help the drive actually begin at the 35 after just one play. It would only take one play from there, as Bullock hit Joshua Groudle on a 35-yard strike to bust the game wide open at 28-0 with 7:02 still to play in the opening half.
The Eagles would start their next drive deep in Polar Bear territory after a shanked punt. It once again didn’t take them long to take advantage as the Eagles connected quickly. This score came on a 21-yard touchdown pass over the middle to Grady Lentz- Pieffer. It was now 35-0 with 3:38 to go in the opening half.
Things would not improve for the Polar Bears as Eddie Andrews scooped up a blocked punt by Xavier Styles to get the scoring going in the second half and make it 42-0 Eagles. They would cruise from there for the victory.
