The Elyria Pioneers defeated the Midview Middies 41-3 as Jaden Gilbert led the team to victory with 3 touchdowns with 180 yards.
Elyria came out the opening minute smoking as Gilbert opened up the game with a 65-yd running touchdown. The Pioneers would come right back offensively as Senior RB Lance Glover had 3 consecutive plays for 58 yards and a touchdown. Pioneers go up 14-0.
After forcing the Middies to fumble, the Pioneers scored their 3rd touchdown of the game from Gilbert on an 11-yd run. The score put the home team up 20-0 with less than 5 minutes remaining in the first quarter.
The Middies found the board on a 20-yd field goal in the second quarter. Gilbert found his third touchdown of the night to make the score 27-3. Pioneer Cameron Edwards returned an interception 65-yds to the house, and extended the lead 34-3.
The score remained through the end of the half.
Gilbert returned an interception 55-yds to up the score in the third quarter. The score held throughout the game for a Pioneer victory 41-3.
