The First Quarter started with a Solon Comets three and out. Solon would punt it and Medina would take over already inside the 50 yard line. From there, stud Junior QB Dan Stoddard would lead the Bees to the end zone after a pair of great throws. Stoddard would throw a 15 yard touchdown pass to Senior wideout Brennen Schramm. Medina led 7-0 early in the first.
This trend would continue on, as Solon was forced to punt again.
From there, Stoddard led a 78 yard drive that would end with a 38 yard touchdown pass on the run to Junior wideout Austin Knowles. A jaw dropping play that gave Medina a 14-0 lead with 4:45 left in the first. On the Comets next drive they would end up fumbling and the Bees would recover and go to work at the 25 yard line. On the first play after the fumble, Stoddard would find Schramm again for a 25 yard touchdown pass! The Bees were in full control of this game early, leading 21-0 with 4:27 left in the first.
Solon would get some momentum near the end of the first as on the last play of the quarter the Comets would convert on a fake punt run by Running back E.J. Taylor. The end of the quarter was 21-0, Medina ahead of Solon.
The Second Quarter of play started with a 33 yard bomb from Solon QB Harley Barman to wideout Brian McQuaide. This put Solon within striking distance early in the quarter. The momentum would continue as Harman would find Senior wideout Joel Kpassou for a 10 yard touchdown pass. This cut the Medina lead to 21-7, early in the second quarter.
It looked like the Comets were about to stop the Bees for the first time tonight, until on 4th and 11 Dan Stoddard would throw a 57 yard touchdown pass to Brennen Schramm. Schramm’s third touchdown of the game would put the Bees up 28-7 with 7 minutes remaining in the half.
Solon would end up turning the ball over on downs and Medina took over inside the 50 yard line with 6 minutes left in the half. The Bees again would just stroll down the field thanks to Stoddard. Medina would get to the six yard line and from there, Stoddard would find Brennen Schramm once again for a six yard passing touchdown! Medina led 35-7 with 3:17 left in the half.
Medina would get the ball back and go on a nice drive right before halftime. The Bees got to the two yard line and with 11 second left in the half, Stoddard would rush in the end zone for a touchdown. Medina led 42-7 going into the half.
Coming out of the half the Bees would be stopped for the first time of the night forcing them to punt to the Comets. That would pretty much sum up the third quarter as neither offense could get anything going. The end of the third quarter would still stand at 42-7 with Medina in the lead.
The final quarter of play Medina would start it off by turning the ball over on downs. But, the very next play for Solon was an interception and Medina had the ball inside the 40. Not long after, Medina found themselves at the one yard line. On the first play from the one, Stoddard threw a pass to wideout Austin Knowles and it was caught for a one yard touchdown. Knowles’ second touchdown expanded the Bees lead to 48-7 after the PAT was missed. Neither team could score again as Medina backup QB Chris DePasquale would throw an interception.
