Baldwin Wallace University sophomore defensive back Alden Steele (Lorain/Amherst) has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week as a safety.
Steele, who is also this week’s Ohio Athletuc Conference Defensive Player of the Week, garners his first career team of the week accolade. He had a career-day in BW’s 35-31 comeback victory over Ohio Northern University on Parents’ and Family Day. Steele took full advantage of his first career start at safety as just seven seconds into the game, he recovered the opening kickoff fumble and returned it 11 yards for his first career touchdown. In addition, Steele recorded a career and game-high 14 tackles with 1.5 tackles for a loss and a quarterback sack.
This season, he has appeared in three games and has recorded 16 tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery.
In his career, Steele has played in four games and has 16 career tackles.
