Olmsted Falls Take Down Elyria on the Road

ELYRIA, OH- The first day of fall brought some cold weather for the matchup between Elyria and Olmsted Falls.

The first quarter presented a slow start for both offenses. The ball went back and forth for most of the quarter.

Olmsted Falls was the team to break the deadlock thanks to sophomore quarterback James Rosol finding senior Michael Candow on a 36-yard touchdown strike. The first quarter would end with a score of 7-0.

The intensity for both teams picked up in the second quarter. Olmsted Falls began with the ball but stalled out and were forced to punt. Elyria sophomore Laron Anderson-Oliver returned the ball to the 46-yard line, giving Elyria excellent field position. Elyria took full advantage and found the end zone for the first time on the night. After senior Lance Glover secured the touchdown, junior kicker Tim Rader tacked on a PAT. It was all knotted up at 7 all at the halftime break.

The third quarter started with numerous flags. Elyria was the first to strike and find a rhythm. Ryan Klotz found Jasir Lucky for the touchdown to make it 14-7.

Elyria’s defense came out flying and took Rosol down in the backfield twice. The Bulldogs responded quickly and Rocco Conti gashed open the defense for his first touchdown on the night. Noah Minadeo missed the extra point and the Bulldogs remained down by one.

Olmsted Falls worked their way down the field on their first drive of the fourth quarter and scored another TD. Rocco Conti’s second on the night put the Bulldogs up 19-14 following a failed two-point conversion attempt.

Conti was not done and found this end zone once again to complete his hat trick of touchdowns.  A missed PAT made the score 25-14 in favor of Olmsted Falls and that is how this one would wrap up.

The player of the game is Rocco Conti with his three touchdowns on the night.
