Why The Ohio State Buckeyes Will Win the College Football National Championship

The Ohio State University is known for having an unbelievable football team. For the past decade, OSU has gone into every season hungry for a national title. They accomplished this in 2014 with 3rd string QB Cardale Jones leading the team. Since then, Ohio State has made it back to the Championship just once. That was in 2020 with Justin Fields as the Quarterback.

The Buckeyes lost that game to Heisman Trophy winner of that season Devonta Smith. The Buckeyes seem to be favorites to make it to the Championship game every year, but there always seems to be a hiccup. For instance, just last season the Buckeyes were on a roll going into the last week of the season. They were heading into Ann-Arbor to face their hated rival, the Michigan Wolverines.

Ohio State would end up getting beat pretty good that game and it ruined the season for them. They hadn’t lost to Michigan in 10 years! The Buckeyes championship dreams were ruined that year but still went on to win one of the best Rose Bowl games of all time against the Utah Utes. In that game Quarterback C.J. Stroud set Rose Bowl records, throwing for 573 Yards and 6 Touchdowns! He also got some help from star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba who broke another Rose Bowl record when he caught 15 passes for 347 yards and 3 touchdowns! It was an absolute offensive clinic as Freshman wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. caught 6 passes for 71 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Ohio State was without their two best receivers in Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson, as they were sitting out to avoid injury for the NFL Draft. The Buckeyes offense dominated this game with all of their young guys and that’s what makes them so dangerous this year. Quarterback C.J.

Stroud finished 4th place in the Heisman Trophy voting last year and he is beyond ready for his second year as a full time starter. Stroud has help too, and a lot of it. Jaxon Smith-Njigba will be back and proved he is now the best receiver in the country after that Rose Bowl game. He will be joined by former #1 recruit in the country Julian Fleming, another 5 star receiver in Emeka Egbuka, and Sophomore star receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

This has the potential to be one of the greatest receiving rooms in not just Ohio State history, but College Football history. Stroud also has some great help behind him, Sophomore Running back TreVeyon Henderson exploded onto the scene last year and is already considered one of the best backs in College Football. The fire power on this Buckeyes team is unlike any other we have seen in a while.

They have multiple 5 star players at every position and have one more thing going for them. The Buckeyes are out for revenge. After losing to Michigan for the first time in 10 years and seeing those Wolverines celebrate it like they did just adds so much fuel to the fire. Ohio State is going to come out swinging this season and the first team that has to experience it is Notre Dame on September 3rd, 2022.

Notre Dame is a good team, but they have no match for what the Buckeyes are bringing to field this season. Ohio State should be able to cruise pretty smoothly through the rest of the season, games against Michigan State, Iowa, and Penn State are always close, but they will prevail. Then to wrap up the season on November 26th, 2022 the Buckeyes have home field advantage against the team that ruined their season last year and it also happens to be the team that they hate the most, the Michigan Wolverines.

“The Game”, as they call it will be the most exciting game to watch all season because of the history between these teams and how it ended last year. The Wolverines want to keep their win streak going against the Buckeyes, but Ohio State wants a taste of that sweet revenge to complete their undefeated season.

This Buckeyes team is one of the most talented teams they’ve ever had, it’s just up to Head Coach Ryan Day to keep them in line, and not get to far ahead of themselves. If all that can happen, The Ohio State Buckeyes will be your 2022-2023 National Champions.
