North Royalton High School Varsity Baseball Shuts Out Nordonia High School 4-0

On Wednesday, April 27th, the Boys Varsity Baseball Team traveled to Nordonia High School for a conference game with the Knights.

 

The Bears scored 2 runs in the third inning and 2 runs in the sixth inning to beat the Knights 4 – 0.

 

In the third inning, Zach Bitterman walked with one out. Vince Koprowski followed with a bunt single and Zach advanced to second. Cody Miller tripled and Zach and Vince scored. The Bears led 2 – 0.

 

In the sixth inning, Jake Michalak reached on an error by the shortstop. Billy Lobello entered the game and ran for Jake. Billy then stole second base. Matt Abbott then reach on an error by the shortstop and Billy scored. The Bears led 3 – 0. Joe Schmidt entered the game and ran for Matt. Gavin Jones walked and Joe advanced to second. Joe stole third and Gavin stole second. Alex Trivonovich walked to load the bases. Zach Bitterman hit a sacrifice fly ball to center field and Joe scored. Bears led 4 – 0.

 

Starting pitcher Gavin Jones pitched five innings allowing 2 hits, 0 runs, a walk and seven strikeouts.

 

Jake Michalak relieved Gavin and pitched two innings allowing 0 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks and 1 strikeout.

 

The Boys Varsity Baseball Team overall record is now 8 wins and 2 losses and a conference record of 5 wins and 0 losses. Come cheer them on as they host Stow High School on Thursday, April 28th at 5:00 PM.
