BW Tennis Drops Match Against Otterbein

The Baldwin Wallace University women’s tennis team continued Ohio Athletic Conference play with a 9-0 loss against Otterbein University at the Otterbein Tennis Courts.

The Yellow Jackets fall to 2-9 (1-1 in OAC) on the year, while Otterbein is now 14-3 (5-0 in OAC).

Doubles (Otterbein, 3-0)

  • All-OAC senior Ashtyn Morris (Salem) and All-OAC sophomore Gabriela Heideman (Doylestown/Wadsworth) fell short in the No. 1 doubles match versus Otterbein’s Emma Henson and Erin Storrer by a score of 8-1.
  • The No. 2 duo of  sophomore Kierstyn Yates (Grafton/Midview) and freshman Emma Trost (Norwalk) were defeated by Madi Mueller and Lillia Walter, 8-1.
  • In the No. 3 doubles match, freshmen Hanna LeMaster (Avon) and Mattie Hicks (Oneida, N.Y.) were defeated by Rachelle Moses and Aubrey McMahon by a final of 8-0.

Singles (Otterbein, 9-0)

  • Morris was defeated by Storrer 6-0, 6-1 in No. 1 singles.
  • Heideman fell to Walter by a score of 6-3, 6-0 in the No. 2 singles match.
  • Yates dropped the No. 3 match to Henson by identical scores of 6-1.
  • LeMaster fell short in the closest match of the day, a 7-5, 6-3 loss against Mueller.
  • Trost fell to Moses in the No. 5 match by a score of 6-1, 6-0.
  • Hicks was defeated by Cassady Shough in the No. 6 match by a final of 6-0, 6-0.

The Yellow Jackets will next compete on Wednesday, April 20th in an OAC match against Muskingum University at 3:30 p.m. at Cambridge City Park.
