After 24-22 Loss To Green Bay The Problem With The Browns Is Clear

This story is brought to you by https://keeonsports.com/sponsors/

When the Browns defense needed stops in the second half today against Green Bay, they got the stops.  Nick Chubb shredded the Packers defense for 126 yards on the ground on just 17 carries with 58 yards though the air as well.  Baker Mayfield completed passes to 9 different receivers for over 220 yards. All of that and the Browns still lost to Green Bay today by a score of 24-22.  Why?

Allow me to give the fans of Kee On Sports and the Cleveland Browns a few reasons.

The Cleveland Browns “star” quarterback Baker Mayfield threw four interceptions.

Baker Mayfield has led 0 game winning drives this season.

The Cleveland Browns defense couldn’t stop anyone in the first half and created zero turnovers.

The Cleveland Browns were at midfield with over a minute left, possessed all three timeouts and started to throw the ball with a quarterback who was shaky at best.

Fans can blame covid, they can blame Baker Mayfields shoulder being dinged up.  They can blame playing on a holiday, on the road on a very short week.  They can blame anything and anyone they want, but after today’s loss, the problem is clear.

Baker Mayfield took sacks to take the Browns out of scoring drives.  Baker Mayfield threw interceptions to end Cleveland Browns scoring drives. Instead of taking Terry Bradshaw’s advice on the post-game show about either rolling out or taking deeper drops so he can improve and actually see down the field, he will spend the week complaining about the media and having his wife stick up for him on social media.

Kyler Murray plays tonight for the Arizona Cardinals, a fellow “short” NFL Number 1 overall draft pick who knows how to use his size to his advantage and shred defense after defense.  Also, I’m pretty sure guys like Dree Brews and Eli Manning weren’t exactly skyscrapers either, but they have 3 combined Super Bowl rings over Tom Brady and Peyton Manning combined.

If Baker Mayfield cannot figure it out, he needs to go.  You have the defensive star in Myles Garrett, you have the running back in Chubb and you have the right head coach in Kevin Stefanski.  Call Houston, offer the Texans a fifth round pick for Watson, and let’s go!
