MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Baldwin Wallace University senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and All-OAC women’s basketball forward Lilly Edwards (Dublin/Coffman) has been named to the 2021-22 D3hoops.com Preseason Women’s Basketball All-America Team.
Edwards, who earned Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association Division III All-American honorable mention honors after last season, is projected to be among the top-25 in Division III after this year’s campaign according to d3hoops.com.
Other accolades that Edwards has achieved so far in her career are second team D3hoops.com All-Great Lakes Region honors, first team All-OAC, and she was a College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District 7 selection.
Edwards earns preseason recognition for averaging a double-double last season, recording averages of 18.1 points and 10.3 rebounds. Edwards also averaged 1.9 assists per game. She posted 271 points and 155 rebounds in 15 games last season.
In her career, Edwards averages 12.49 points per game and 7.06 rebounds per game. She totals 862 points, 487 rebounds, 57 steals, and 56 assists. Off the court, Edwards is a dean’s list student, Jacket Scholar, and is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma honorary0
Edwards is accompanied on the preseason All-America list by just one other OAC student-athlete. John Carroll University’s graduate senior forward Nicole Heffington was chosen as a preseason first team selection.
BW begins the year with a non-conference matchup at Case Western Reserve University on Tuesday, November 9. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Horsburgh Gymnasium inside the Veale Center.
