The Tears
Group Date One brought the first set of tears as Mike admitted to being a virgin with a beautiful letter written and read out loud to Katie. To make things even more impactful was the fact that he read it in front of all of the Bachelors in the house. It was a bold move by Mike but it appeared to pay off.
As a fellow Roman Catholic I know just how extremely important this value is. Pre-martial sex is still seen as a very serious sin and not to be joked about. I actually went to confession after I had pre-martial sex for the first time. I’m proud of Mike for sticking to his values at the age of 31. I cannot even imagine how tough that had to be.
There was then plenty of tears to go around when Katie went on her first solo date of the season with Gregg as they both opened up to each other about losing their fathers. It was an emotional turn at the candle light dinner as they both opened up what they felt inside and let the waterworks come out.
This had to be tough for Gregg to talk about losing his father, let alone get so emotional. As I have mentioned in past articles, I’m very close with my own father and fully understand the importance a good Dad can play in your life. Their connection already seemed to be strong, but this makes him a front runner early on.
