When state renown girls’ basketball coach Jay Valadez stepped away from Amherst earlier this Spring, he instantly became the top Free Agent on the coaching market. After weeks of anticipation, Kee On Sports is happy to announce that Coach Valadez will be resuming his career at Padua Franciscan this fall.
Valadez runs the very successful Great Lakes Training Center in Avon. When he isn’t training some of the top athletes in Northeast Ohio in his gym, he is coaching them with his AAU program The Great Lakes Storm.
In Valadez, Padua is getting a true leader with a proven track record of success. While at Amherst, he led them to multiple playoff runs. Several of his players went on to play at the next level, such as Amaya Staton, Lexy Alston, Faith Lewis and Kam Dziak to name a few. This all came while playing in the extremely competitive SWC conference.
We spoke with Valadez who had this to say about his new position with Padua, “I’m very excited about the challenge in front of me with Padua. I feel it’s a very similar situation to my first year at Amherst. With Padua having 10 returning varsity players, the cupboard is not empty”
Best of luck to Coach Jay Valadez and the Lady Bruins this coming season.
To all in the future whom may consider this man as an option to coach your school: Look to someone else. Stay away he is a liar, not a good coach, a breaker of confidence and just not a good man… He broke down the emotional well being of our girls and left the Padua program in shambles…oh yeah he quit after one year. Buyer beware!!!!
