Night One of NXT Stand & Deliver was tonight on the USA Network and the grades are ready to be handed out. Let’s get right to it.
Match – NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai loses her title to Raquel Gonzalez
Grade – A+
Reason – HOLY COW!!! That is what WrestleMania weekend is all about! With the smart money on Asuka vs Rhea Ripley to steal the show at Mania, Gonzalez and Shirai may have set that bar very high tonight. The leap off the skull from 20 feet up from Shirai onto Gonzalez was stunning and will go down in the annals of time.
Io Shirai was a fantastic champion, but the writing was on the wall for this one. Gonzalez is an absolute stud and someone I can see running through the NXT Women’s roster like a hot knife through butter! No pun intended, but this match made me stand up and cheer as it absolutely delivered!
