Harris– a 6-foot-7 forward– picked the Mountaineers over Ohio State, Kansas State, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Xavier and Cincinnati. The biggest reason he chose West Virginia was the relationships he’s built with coach Bob Huggins and his staff.
“The relationship with the staff was amazing, I love the winning atmosphere, and it feels like home,” Harris said.ย
During his junior season, he helped lead Richmond Heights to a Division IV state semifinal appearance. He led the way averaging 18.6 points, 11.6 rebounds and 3 assists per game.
Talking with friends and family, Harris believed it was the right time to make a decision, he explained. He’s a premier player returning to Northeast Ohio for one last year and he’s a player that brings a lot to the table for Huggins at the next level.
“(I’m) a versatile player on offense and defense. I can shoot from anywhere on the floor and guard any position,” Harris said on what the Mountaineers will be getting out of him. “I am also a leader.”
