Five more women left the show last night, and one more showed up. Welcome to the ever-changing world of The Bachelor on ABC. There’s a lot to get too, so let’s not waste any time.
Leaving the show
MJ – Our beloved hairdresser from Hudson Ohio was sent home in the early moments of the show. It seemed to me that she was just being her real self and Matt was duped into believing every word said by Jessenia. For my money atleast, Jessenia comes across as a paid actress and I didn’t buy a word that came out of her mouth. I think MJ got hosed by what seems to be a pathological liar.
Also going home was Magi, Brittany and Ryan.
Magi seemed like and odd fit from the start. Ryan, I actually felt bad for as she never really got a chance to be alone with him. As for Brittany, it is most likely for the best as she got off on the wrong foot and didn’t exactly get things back on track.
Also, if she really is an escort, this show was filmed in the fall and she was going to lose a lot of money on Work Holiday parties and whatever else you would bring an escort too. Again, I’ve never purchased one, so I’m not exactly sure, but I’d have to imagine it pays well.
Katie was the first to get sent home from a solo date. Everyone else Matt took out, including Pieper earlier in the show appeared to be a great fit for him, and instant chemistry. For whatever reason he wasn’t into her and that was it.
Katie did have a memorable run from night one however. She stayed true to herself and her beliefs even people like Serena “Avatar” C became offended by it. She was also one of the few attractive women on the show as his season has been seriously lacking in that category. More on that later.
Getting roses
The solo date went well with Pieper as she was not shy about sharing her feelings for Matt. He seemed to be more than okay with it too. It didn’t freak him out, and she ended up with the coveted rose. Also, after a fun bowling date, it was my personal favorite Michelle getting the group date rose.
The Arrival of Heather Martin
Listen, let’s call a spade a spade here folks. This is exactly what happened with the producers. The biggest reason for most men to sit down and watch this show is the typically large group of extremely attractive women featured every week. Need proof? Go back and watch the Pilot Pete season.
That being said, they go into this season with several strikes against them already. The COVID 19 pandemic doesn’t allow them to travel, which really waters down the show. Secondly, the lost all of their “villains” in a one-week span with the departure of Victoria, Anna and now MJ. Sarah the journalist is long gone too. So, they needed a villain, and what says villain like a new face in the house to stir it up.
Thirdly, and quite frankly, the remaining group of women are just not that attractive, with the exception of Abigail. Combine that with the fact most of them lack personality or like ability, they needed to do something desperate. Are we watching a fantasy reality show, or are we watching a bunch of women you would see walking around the mall food court? Sorry, but not sorry, it is what it is.
Heather Martin is drop dead gorgeous, has a great personality and will bring instant life to a show that badly needs it. She has already shown personality, beauty and the ability to laugh at herself.
Sadly, she will not stick around and will be long gone after the first segment of next weeks show. Matt is too deep into it already to allow her in. However, the show will get the one week ratings spike it needs.
