by Jalin Billingsley– a three-star recruit–committed to Georgetown University Saturday afternoon over Arizona State. The 6-foot-8 forward chose Patrick Ewing and his staff as he now joins shooting guard Jordan Riley and three-star point guard Tyler Beard in Georgetown’s 2021 recruiting class.
During his junior year, he helped lead Lutheran East to a 20-3 record and a Sweet 16 appearance in the playoffs. Billingsley averaged 17.4 points and 13 rebounds per game last season for the Falcons and wasn’t afraid to show off his shooting ability late in the season.
He’s a player that uses his size well and that’s something he’s going to continue to work on preparing for the next level.
“I’m going to be playing a stretch four type of position and I just feel like that will be a pretty good fit for me,” Billingsley said in an interview with Brian Snow of 247Sports. “They want me to be aggressive offensively but still want me to play some defense, blocking shots and getting steals and stuff.
“I see my skillset fitting in there and being beneficial because I can do a little bit of everything,” he continued. “They have some bigs there already so I won’t be stuck to just playing as a big. I can be big, I can be a forward and I can even be a wing. I can be a little bit of everything.”
The Hoyas are coming off a 15-17 record from the 2019-20 season, finishing 5-13 in the Big East.
After today’s addition of Jalin Billingsley, Georgetown sits with the 20th ranked class in America.
Hoyas adding in the toughness category this summer. Will look for the home-run next with Chet Holmgren, Pat Baldwin, Efton Reid, Aminu Mohammed in sight.

Billingsley is ranked as the No. 34 power forward and No. 177 overall player in the Class of 2021, according to the 247Sports.com Composite Rankings.
