Five undrafted players who could stick with the Cleveland Browns

After the NFL Draft the Cleveland Browns signed 15 undrafted free agents. While most will not make the final roster there are a few who have a solid opportunity. Let’s take a look at five who could stick around in 2020 and beyond.

  • A.J. Green – CB – Oklahoma State – 6’1” 202 lbs.

The biggest name of the undrafted free agents signed by the Browns is cornerback A.J. Green out of Oklahoma State. Cleveland though so highly of Green that they gave him $145,000 of guaranteed money for the 2020 season.

Green was projected to go as high as round 5 in the 2020 NFL draft. His draft stock took a big hit at the NFL Draft Combine when he ran a 4.62 and 4.71 for his two 40-yard dash times.

Green was a 3-year starter at Oklahoma State. In his senior season he recorded 49 tackles and one interception which he returned for a touchdown. He was named second-team All-Big 12 by the Associated Press and honorable mention All-Big12 by the conference coaches.

Green was a semi-finalist for the Jim Thorpe award which goes to the nations top defensive back. He was also selected to play in the Senior Bowl where he started for the South squad and performed very well.

Green has a very good chance at making the Browns opening day roster. He will no doubt have a big chip on his shoulder after going undrafted.
